Mandala @ MIT: The Wheel of Life
Venue: Ray and Maria Stata Center, Room 123 32 Vassar Street, Cambridge (MIT Building 32-123) Click here for map. Speakers: Fr. Thomas Keating and Ven. Tenzin Priyadarshi Contemplation had been recognized across time and culture as essential to the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom, yet it remains almost entirely absent from today's curriculum and pedagogy. Contemplative knowing is a missing link, one that affects the student's performance, character, and depth of understanding. The panelists will talk about their insights from contemplative practice, and the practical and natural role of contemplation in life-long learning, including formal education. Note on Parking: Free parking is available in MIT West Lot after 5PM during the Sand Mandala week. Free street parking is available on Massachusetts Avenue and Vassar Street. |
