The Prajnopaya Foundation, in partnership with the Medical Division of Siemens Inc., held multi-day Hearing Screening Camps in April 2007 in Bihar. The Foundation will provide hearing aids to poor children and the elderly at a subsidized cost. Although not usually considered a prominent issue, hearing, like vision, continues to weaken as one ages especially in the absence of necessary interventions. For young children of school age that suffer from hearing impairments it is of utmost importance to recieve these hearing aids which will allow them to stay in school and enjoy the benefits of a full education.
